My name is Elie and I am a composer, sound designer, voice actor, and unyielding game jammer who has worked on over 160 jam games in the past couple years. At Global Game Jam 2019, I set a world record when I livestreamed myself soundtracking 30 games at a single jam. I am one half of indie game studio Ian & Elie, making games such as Sature and Stacks On Stacks (On Stacks). I also moonlight as an audio freelancer for escape rooms and game titles such as Ghost Dentist and Yaga, as well as writing for games like Dandara, and previously I ran escape rooms for InsideOut in Helsinki, Finland. I love to teach and perform and can be caught giving workshops and lectures about game development, careers, and audio, DJing at game and other events as Meduusa, and delivering stand-up comedy. Last but far from least, I am an activist for queer visibility and have been featured in WiredAutostraddleVoima, and the Helsinki City Museum exhibit HelSEXinki. My pronouns are they/them. My name rhymes with Nelly and vermicelli.

Right now, I am in the throes of juggling gigs as a writer, musician, sound designer, and voice actor (or some combination thereof) for multiple games, including Dandara, Stacks On Stacks (On Stacks), Birds With Feelings, and some other ones I have yet to announce! I returned from traveling for Train Jam, GDC, PAX East, A Maze. Berlin, and am now looking to rest! At these events I was responsible for a combination of happenings, such as holding workshops/talks, partaking in panels, jamming, performing music, and hosting the game dev stand-up comedy show Funny = TRUE.

I just saw the Polish black/death metal band Behemoth live and it was awesome. Since I’m a workaholic, I’ve been trying to spending extra time sitting at home and doing nothing or binge-watching some series or the absolutely phenomenal educational YouTube channel Kurzgesagt. I've also watched and loved Trevor Noah's and Bo Burnam's latest Netflix comedy specials.

My hopes are to rest after surviving the con season and then work on a better routine that involves more cooking / healthy eating and I recently started going regularly to the gym (because I got them game developer knees and wrists, oof).

I recently played through GRIS twice (and cried both times), am re-playing WarCraft III, and finished The Return of the Obra Dinn, which was absolutely amazing. I beat Void Bastards and loved it and am hoping to work on a game like it that's just dripping with femme/queer goodness. Also, if you haven't seen Ord., this text adventure is so clever, easy to play (I got my mother to try it out!), and a lot of fun. Strong recommend!
